Found throughout Mexico and in the Southern regions of Arizona and New Mexico, the Gould's Turkey typically inhabits mountain like terrain. The Gould's Turkey is the largest species of turkey found in the United States and is most identifiable by its bright white tipped feathers.
The Eastern Wild Turkey can be found throughout thirty-eight of the United States and four provinces in Canada. Of the five species of turkeys hunted in the United States, the Eastern Turkey is the most abundant. This species of turkey can stand over four feet tall and weigh up to thirty pounds. Strong management of this resource has helped the Eastern Turkey to thrive and rapidly expand the territory in which it thrives.

The Merriam's Turkey can be found throughout fifteen of the United States and four provinces in Canada. Thriving in the Western half of the United States in primarily mountain regions, however this species of turkey has been successfully introduced into California, Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington. Toms will generally have very white feathers located on its lower back.
Located primarily in the central plains states of the United States, the Rio Grande Turkey is named after the river in which it was first identified. It generally resides in much more open terrain that is adjacent to rivers or other bodies of water. This species of turkey can be identified by its much more copper tones of feathers.
Named for the early 1800's Seminole Chief, Osceola, the Osceola Turkey is only found Florida. The Osceola Turkey looks very similar to the Eastern Turkey, however is much darker in color and has much narrower white bands across its wing feathers.
