WWIA's Situation

The country has been at war, now, for over ten years.
 As of 13 January 2013, the total number of service members Wounded in Action was 50,409 from OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION NEW DAWN (OND).
 These men and women are our Nation’s most treasured asset. Hunting and fishing provide excellent opportunities to assist our wounded veterans in recovering – mentally, physically, and spiritually from their war experiences.

The Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation Inc. (WWIA) serves our Nation’s combat wounded Purple Heart recipients by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities as a means to recognize and honor their sacrifice, encourage independence and connections with communities, and promote healing and wellness through camaraderie and a shared passion for the outdoors.

Wounded Warriors in Action

Established in 2007, the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Apollo Beach Florida. The WWIA is dedicated to serving our nation's combat wounded, Purple Heart recipients, by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities. If you are a hunting outfitter, guide, private ranch, or simply land owner, please contact the Wounded Warriors in Action team to donate your services to a hero who has earned a purple heart.
